Frequently Asked QUESTIONS:

  • Is Manual Underwriting Allowed in the Program?
    Yes. Manual underwriting is permitted and underwriters must follow US Bank and Agency guidelines for the product (FHA, VA, USDA: RD, etc.). It is not allowed for Manufactured Homes.
  • Is There an Income Limit?
    Yes. Please see the "Income Limits" section on our "About" page.
  • Are Co-Signers Allowed?
    Yes. Co-signers are permitted to the extent permitted by applicable agency (FHA, VA, USDA:RD). Treat co-signer/income as directed by the agency. A co-signer cannot have any ownership interest in the property. (They cannot be on the mortgage/DOT/ warranty deed.)
  • Will Using the Program Slow Down the Closing of my Loan?
    No. Using the program should not slow down loan closing. Borrowers should utilize the services of a trained and qualified lender.
  • Is Homebuyer Education Required?
    Yes. All borrowers must complete a homebuyer education course and receive a certificate of completion. Ask an approved Welcome Home Wyoming Program lender for more details.
  • Are Manufactured Home Allowed?

  • Are Conventional Loans Offered?
    Yes. The Welcome Home Wyoming Program offers products made possible by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
